Swab and Send Home COVID-19 FAQ

I am returning to my home country and need a COVID-19 negative test result for clearance. Can I visit Minmed?2020-07-30T11:09:16+08:00

We are unable to conduct swab tests for travel clearance needs. Please email [email protected] for further guidance.

My employer has requested me to go for testing before returning to work. Can I be tested?2020-07-30T11:07:58+08:00

Requests for and requests for referrals for COVID-19 testing for those who are asymptomatic are not allowed (e.g employer’s request, travel clearance needs, worried well).

However, if you are suffering from symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection, our doctors will review your condition first, and perform the swab test for you at the clinic if indicated.

Will Minmed Clinic provide and charge me for other treatments during my visit for the swabbing?2020-07-30T11:02:28+08:00

As the first GP should already have provided you with all the necessary medication and MC, you should not require further treatment from us.

Which GP/ Clinic will inform me of the swab results?2020-07-30T11:01:48+08:00

The first GP of the referring clinic will inform you of the swab results.

Will I definitely get a swab if I present at Minmed Clinic (SASH PHPC) with a referral letter from the first (referring) GP?2020-07-30T11:01:03+08:00

The referring GP and our Minmed Doctors are responsible for ensuring that patients are suitable for SASH. Therefore, we will make a further assessment to ascertain whether you remain suitable for SASH at the point of your visit before performing the swab. You are not required to make any payment with us whether or not a swab is performed.

What documents should I bring to Minmed Clinic( or any SASH PHPC) where I go for the swab test?2020-07-30T11:00:33+08:00

Please bring along the referral form completed by the first (referring) GP and your NRIC.

I have paid for my consultation at the first GP during which I was given a referral to be swabbed elsewhere. Do I need to pay for the consultation and swab test if I visit Minmed Clinic for the swabbing?2020-07-30T10:58:46+08:00

You are advised to present yourself at any SASH PHPC (including Minmed Clinics) within 24 hours of your first visit at the first GP clinic. You will be allowed up to 48 hours from your visit at the first GP clinic to do so. If you present yourself within 48 hours of your referring visit with a completed referral form, you do not need to pay for the consultation and swab at the receiving SASH PHPC.

However, if you are i) present at the SASH PHPC (including Minmed Clinic) past 48 hours from your visit at the first GP clinic, or ii) do not bring along a completed referral form provided by the first GP, you will need to be reviewed again. In this case, you will be charged as per a regular Flu Subsidy Scheme (FSS)/Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) Acute visit, or if not eligible for FSS or CHAS, the respective consultation fee charged by Minmed.

If you wish to be seen and treated for other non-Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) conditions with us, you will be charged for consultation and medication separately.

Can I visit Minmed Clinic to request for SWAB test / COVID-19 test?2020-07-30T10:57:39+08:00

Our doctors will review your condition first, and if you are assessed to have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection, we will perform the swab test for you at the clinic.

Requests for and requests for referrals for COVID-19 testing for those who are asymptomatic are not allowed (e.g employer’s request, travel clearance needs, worried well).

Where should I go for the swab test, with the referral letter from my General Practitioner (GP)?2020-08-05T12:15:05+08:00

GPs have been advised to refer patients to the nearest operating facility, so as to minimise travel and exposure to other members of the public, as well as avoid delays to being tested. Facilities which provide swabbing for referred cases include selected SASH Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs), polyclinics, SGH Fever Screening Area, and NCID Screening Centre. You can refer to this link for the nearest facility to you, or book an appointment with Minmed for COVID-19 testing.

The list of SASH PHPCs that provide swabbing for referred cases are published on this website. Please take note of the operating hours of the clinic you wish to visit. We advise you to make a prior appointment to ensure a smooth experience.
