What Is Executive Health Screening and Who Should Consider It

Executive health screening is an in-depth preventative medical screening program designed to evaluate the overall health of an individual.

Unlike basic blood tests, these screenings are more comprehensive, involving a wide array of advanced tests like ultrasounds or CT scans, consultations with a health screening doctor, and a focused review of lifestyle factors.

Who Should Consider an Executive Health Screening?
Executive Health Screening should be considered by all adults, especially over the age of 40 as the incidence of chronic diseases significantly increases after this age.

You should consider Executive Health Screening if:

  • You are a corporate executive or high-level professional with a high-stress job, demanding travel or irregular schedules that lead to neglected health and increased risk factors.
  • You have a known family history of conditions like premature heart disease, cancer or stroke.
  • You have existing lifestyle risk factors like smoking, alcohol intake, sedentary habits, poor diet.
  • You would like a more detailed and personalised evaluation of your health.

Who may not need Executive Health Screening?

  • Under 18 years old.
  • Patients who are currently undergoing active cancer treatment
  • If you have had comprehensive health screening already done in the last 1 year.
  • If you are currently having any serious active infections or illnesses, it would be advisable to postpone health screening until you are fully recovered.

Why Is Health Screening Useful?
The primary goal of executive health screening is to provide a complete and holistic snapshot of your current health status, to identify early risk factors for preventable or serious conditions (such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes), and provide personalized action plans for health optimization. This will include:

  • In-Depth Testing: Beyond basic bloodwork, screenings often include advanced imaging, specialized cancer markers or multi cancer early detection, comprehensive metabolic panels, and stress tests.
  • Convenience and Efficiency: The entire assessment is usually completed in a single, extended visit, minimising disruption to your schedule.
  • Personalised Review: A dedicated health screening physician will review your results and discuss with you personalised prevention strategies and health goals based on your results and concerns - addressing nutrition, stress management, sleep quality, and physical activity, offering counselling and referrals as needed.

What Happens During Executive Health Screening?

  1. Before your appointment - You may do a pre-consultation to discuss with one of our doctors which tests to perform.
  2. Registration – Personal and medical details are confirmed.
  3. Medical Consultation and Physical Examination with a dedicated health screening physician  – a detailed personal and family history will be taken, with care taken to address any specific concerns you may have. A full body examination will be performed.
  4. Physical Measurements - Height/Weight and BMI, body fat measurement,  blood pressure, vision tests ( visual acuity, colour vision and tonometry)
  5. Blood Draw - basic panels and extended biomarkers, multi cancer early detection
  6. Radiological Imaging - Ultrasounds, Mammogram, Chest X- ray, CT scans (Low dose CT for lung cancer screening, CT calcium scoring, CT Angiogram)
  7. Other tests offered - Resting Electrocardiogram, Treadmill Stress Test, 2D echocardiogram,  Audiometry, Spirometry, Retinal Photography, Pap Smears/ HPV test.

This list of tests is not comprehensive, and screenings should be based on individual and family histories, lifestyle, and risk factors. Please consult with our doctors to determine the most appropriate screenings for your specific health needs.

Review of results
Results will be ready within 7-10 working days. You should have a review with one of our doctors when your results are ready.

Benefits of Executive Health Screening

  • Early Detection and Treatment - to proactively identify potential health conditions and to set early and thus more effective intervention.
  • Disease Prevention: Identifies risk factors like high cholesterol or increased blood sugar, prompting lifestyle changes to prevent disease development.
  • Increased Survival Rates: Especially for cancers where timely detection significantly improves outcomes.
  • Peace of Mind: Regular check ups will ensure that you are aware of any health conditions or increased risk factors so that you may take the appropriate measures and staying informed about your health

Drawbacks of Executive Health Screening

  • False Positives: Tests may indicate a disease is present when it is not, leading to unnecessary stress, anxiety, and follow-up tests.
  • False Negatives: Tests may miss a disease, giving a false sense of security and delaying necessary treatment.
  • Overdiagnosis and Overtreatment: Detection of abnormalities that may never have caused symptoms or harm in a person’s lifetime, leading to unnecessary treatment.
  • Physical and Financial Costs: Some tests  can be invasive, cause pain, or involve radiation exposure, along with the financial cost of tests and potential follow-ups.

Cost
Depending on the breadth of tests, executive health screenings may range from $400 to $3,000
